**Texas Constitutional Update**

Texas Constitution:

* none *

The Great Region of Texas officially issues Congratulations to each and every nation that was elected, that ran, that voted, that viewed these proceedings! These were some great elections as usual! We only had a couple of close races, most notably, Space, State & the TRC, which were some toughly fought contests. In the other 8 races, everybody who was up against the always looming No Confidence defeated them! One Department was closed this round - Countercultural Affairs.

Again, we had an Election without any questionable "moments" in the races this year, but that is a good thing. It was a nice clean race.

There were no Texas Constitutional Amendments or new Articles up for a vote this quarter. This is a tribute to the stability of our Constitution.

Big cheers to all the new and returning Texas Representative Council members and new and returning Cabinet members! Farewell to the departing ones, your service is appreciated and we look forward to seeing you once again in the future! Special thanks to all who ran and if you didn't win, we hope you run again in the future.

Overall, this has been great fun and a highlight for all Texans. We look forward to seeing how the new freely-elected Government of Texas will make Texas bigger, better and greater than ever! Cheers to The Great Region of Texas!

Let the festivities begin! The Party has already started on the same thread!

Long Live The Great Region of Texas!

Huzzah! That is a motley bunch of nations, I'm sure they will do a stand-up job of running Texas. Congratulations, and good luck to the lot of them.

No fancy newsletter this time. Just an election update.

Texas Election Update

State of the Region Address

The Great Region of Texas officially issues Congratulations to each and every nation that was elected, that ran, that voted, that viewed these proceedings! These were some great elections as usual! Several races were very close races. The Vice President race was as close as it gets and resulted in the first Joint Vice Presidents in years. Both The Pharaoh & Jmac will be serving in that role for the upcoming Trimester. The Department of State was a closely contested race for this newly reopened department. It is heartening to see such interest. Despite No Confidence running in every race, they were not a contender in any race. The one incumbent that stepped down, Cielos Negros, left a fierce battle for the position of Secretary of World Assembly Affairs. It was a good race and congratulations go to Ole Dixieland on a well fought battle. As we mentioned earlier, the Texas Department of State has reopened, as has the Texas Department of Counterculture. Maryginia, former Secretary of Health has slide into that position as the Department of Health has closed, again. It may reopen in an Election in the future. The Texas Representative Council race was pretty tame. With the Vice President containing two nations, all the slots of the TRC were not filled, meaning all nominated were elected. That is fine and we have three new members in the form of Amandil, Coach House Circly and Llama City One! Yay! As usual, the President defeated No Confidence, resoundingly, we might add.

Please join us in commending all of Texas for their participation in this quarter's Election! This quarter, we saw more participation than the last two quarters combined! The turnout was staggering and a welcome change. It had lots of speeches and each race was contested except one. Last quarter, there were no contested races. There was a little drama this quarter, but that is Ok. Texans are still very much alive, yet older, and are a dynamic bunch even after all these years! Kudos!

Again, we had an Election without any questionable "moments" in the races this quarter, but that is a good thing too. It was a nice clean race.

In this Election, we had two Texas Constitutional actions up for a vote. One Article had to do with the order of succession in Texas Government. Alas, it became clear early on that it had not been fully vetted prior to going to a vote and was subsequently shot down pending further discussion, probably next trimester. To no one's surprise, the new Article on a National Anthem was trounced again despite being one of the better suggestions in many quarters. Texas is a rough crowd when it comes to music.

Big cheers to all the returning Texas Representative Council members and returning Cabinet members!
