Of Kings and Grand Ministers

Recommended Posts

The watercraft approached the coastline north of Vanderburg. The sea was treacherous, and the vessel bobbed up and down, in sync with the violence of the waves.

"Reminds me of New Glouchestershire," the squad leader said aloud, causing the Amphib squad to burst out into laughter. They still held tight where they could. Seasickness wasn't an issue, but the force of the waves against the boat could throw a man into the wall with some force. It was a blessing when the rocking lost some of its intensity, signaling the approach of land.

"Landing team away!"

The squad hustled out of the vessel, stepping onto the dry land. The squad leader gave the all-clear, and the craft began to reverse, heading back out into the Gray Sea.

"Alright, men, check your weapons and move out. We're not getting paid by the hour."

The men headed northeast, towards the main road.

OOC: Wow, grave buster here.

IC:

“Well if I were Alexandre and heading west, I’d probably want to hide in the forests near Grimmshire. They’re dark and twisted beyond all imagination,” Blackburn said with a grimace. “And I’ve heard talk of some very strange goings on in those lands. Then again, those always were strange places, and never really under Tyrtanian control; just a part of the island.”

“Or he might have tried to escape over the Gray Sea. Treacherous waters those are; nigh impassable for ships, but on a flying broomstick, he could have very well made it to the other side.”

One of the Yoruban officers tied a gag around Xuthus’ mouth and secured it tightly with a knot. He smiled, “Ready for your swim?”

The other Yorubans grabbed Xuthus and dragged him to the edge of the ship before lifting him up over the railing and dropping him feet first into the sea with a tremendous splash.

Blackburn peered over the edge of Deukalion’s ship. “I think that’s the last you’ll see of that worm. But you never know. One time I thought I’d seen the last of Anastasia Torrovitch, and then she came back a week later. She threw me off a cliff; but I’m still here. Guess fate sees to it that our greatest enemies never die.”

Blackburn sat himself back down on a crate with a grimace. “Although, I’m not as young as I use to be, but she’s as lively as ever. Hunting vampires has a tendency to make you feel much older than you are.” He laughed, “And I’m pretty old.”

Deukalion thought about it. "I would think on the islands, but anywhere is possible with Alexandre."

"Indeed." Deukalion looked briefly over the rail, and with a smile nodded. He might be 29, but he had the same feeling about being King.

"general which way should we go Left or Right" asked one of the shadow elite

"well the right path looks to go deeper into the cave so lets take the left path and hopefully get out of this place" answered the general

with that the elici soldiers took the left path which seemed to lead up and out of the cave.

(OOC sorry for taking so long, i've been busy with school)

Golden Sea ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blackburn rose. “As fun as this has been, I think you’ve stayed long enough. It would be better if you left before any of Roth’s supporters come poking ‘round here.” He extended his hand to Deukalion. “For now, I can say that we have a common enemy, and it might be to our… Mutual benefit if we worked together. At least for the time being. What do ya think?”

Martov Vale --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There was a soft clicking of claws on stone in the darkness of the tunnel. Then it stopped. Without warning, two rock-tipped spears flew at the Elician soldiers. The spears were followed by a trio of five foot high, green skinned, sharp-clawed creatures that hurled themselves at the Elicians with a mighty cry in their shrill tongue. They wielded crude iron weapons and wore armour made of lizard skin and leather.

(OOC: I've been super busy with school stuff too but I should have more time to keep up with this soon)

"I would very much agree."

The King motioned, and instantly several workers began to initially prepare the ship for sailing its due course.

As soon as the soldiers heard the soft clicking they sprang into action looking for the threat

"Well looks like we've got company" said the general

That's when the two spears came hurdling at the Elician soldiers they all dodged the spears with Ease.

Then they saw the trio of five foot high, green skinned, sharp-clawed creatures wielding crude iron weapons and wearing armour made of lizard skin and leather.

"Ready yourselves" the general yelled as he prepared to go head to head with the closest of the beasts

"Snipers use your bows" "the Elicium tips can tear through anything just remember to retrieve them when we're done” the general shouted over the Creatures shrill battle crys

"now Swado Eleta take the one to the left" the general ordered” Watchers & snipers take the one to the Right"

"The last ones mine" he said with a smile

With that the Elician solders charged at the Beasts all of them in a battle trance which would strike fear into any opponent what with the single minded determination and the eyes (white for the general and the shadow elite, black as night for the watchers, and an ocean blue for the snipers)

As they neared each other the watchers drew their Staff each as tall as the persons wielding it and each with four spikes on either end. The Shadow elite drew their swords each about 7 feet long with the blade on one side and a double-sided axe on the other.

The two snipers drew their bows and knocked arrows, just before the Watchers reached the beast they released their arrows. The two arrows flew across the small distance in a matter of seconds. The first arrow pierced the beast between the shoulder and neck; the second pierced it in its upper thigh.

The beast started to swing and jabbed with its spear at the watchers as they approached but they easily dodge or blocked its attacks. The four watchers quickly surrounded the beast but couldn't attack it as it was stabbing at anyone who tried to get close. The snipers each fired off another arrow, one pierced the beasts right lung the other just missed its heart. this was the opportunity the watchers were waiting for, all four stabbed at the beast while in was distracted piercing every organ in its body after the beast fell to the ground they cut off its head and planted it on its own spear to make sure that it doesn't heal its wounds and attack again. They then went to help the Shadow elite.

The general was dodging both spear and fist as he neared his target this is going to be fun he thought

The beast tried to keep the general away by stabbing at him with its spear, the general easily dodged and then broke the shaft with his arm. just as the spear rotated in the air and the spear point spun around to faced the beast the general hit it with his palm sending it right back at the creatures heart. As the spear tip pierced its heart the beast went crazy flailing its fists at the general. Just as the beast swung its right arm at the general, he ducked under the punch and grabbed on to the passing arm sung up and kicked the beast in the arm shattering its right elbow. The beast howled in both pain and rage. Quickly regaining its composer it swung with it left arm this time but the general was ready once again. This time the general ducked under the arm and grabbed it just below the left elbow as it passed him and as he swung up he delivered a mighty blow to the beasts other elbow rendering both of its arms useless. as the beast howled for the second time the general ran up and used the beasts partially bent legs as a boost, when he was above the beast and staring it in the eyes the general delivered the fatal blow to it head shattering what used to be its skull. To make sure it never got up again the general drew his sword and severed the beasts head as it was falling to the ground, no longer connected to anything the severed head flew several metres from the body it was just seconds ago attached to.

The last beats seemed to be the toughest of the three although there wasn't much that it could do being surrounded by the shadow elite and the watchers.

The beats tried to attack the Elician's surrounding it but they were too quick. one of the shadow elite tried to get close as the beast was distracted but ended up getting hit with the spear shift and sent flying into a nearby wall "enough of this lets finish this" one of the six male shadow elite yelled. As all the Elician's attacked at the same time, the beast started to swing like mad trying to get them to back away but it was too late for that. in the frenzy one of the shadow elite was able to cut the beasts left leg dropping it to a knee, at that moment one of the watchers stabbed the beast in the heart while another from behind the beast stabbed it through the neck. That’s when the general shot two rounds into its head finishing it off. "cut off its head we don't want it coming back to life" ordered the general "snipers retrieve your arrows" at the generals command the four arrows still in the beast who’s head was stuck on its spear dissolved into a liquid and rematerialized in the quiver of the sniper that shot it. At the same time the shadow elite cut off the head off the beast they just killed.

"Alright we've had our fun"” the general said "now lets get moving I don't really fell like meeting anymore of our neighbours"

In an abandoned warehouse in Vanderburg, the agents waited for representatives from the Socialists. It was always uncertain who would show up, and exactly what position they held in the "movement." The one problem with rebels, their ranks were always flush with pretenders. The sentries alerted the group to the approach of a small group of people.

----

The groups of soldiers continued their way through the wilderness. Shadowing the roads, they made point-to-point transmissions to satellites in order to map out the area. The specific purpose remained unknown to them. On they trekked, perpetually on the fringes of the settlements of Tyrtania.

Martov Vale -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gabriel stepped out of the shadows and walked around the mangled corpses. He examined the Elician handiwork. He categorized it as messy in his head and left it at that. “A little bit overkill,” he said, his curious gaze falling on the General. “They were just goblins.”

Gabriel nudged one of the goblin corpses with the tip of his boot. He took a lizard-leather shield off it and handed it to the General with a smile. “A souvenir of your trip to Tyrtania. May you always remember it… Fondly.” Gabe chuckled and motioned for the Elicians to follow him.

“You’ll forgive Ana’s rudeness earlier, won’t you?” he began. “We hadn’t really considered the consequences of you getting lost down here. Also, I think that the elders would be very pleased to meet you, and very displeased with Ana and myself if they didn’t have the chance to offer you proper rewards.”

Gabriel picked up one of the goblin bodies and tossed it over a ledge that led to a lower cavern. He kneeled at the edge and listened to the growls and hisses that came from below. “Food for the wild beasts so that they won’t come following the smell of blood.”

He stood up again. “Ana has already reached the gate by now. Are you coming?”

Vanderburg -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A woman with dark brown eyes and shoulder length brown hair approached the warehouse. Her once white dress was darkened with age and a lack of washing, and a linen shawl was draped around her shoulders. Her appearance was dishevelled at best, but she had a youthful glint in her eyes and walked with purpose.

She was followed by she was followed by Yuri and Lubomyr. Yuri held an AK47 and Lubomyr had a small revolver on his belt. Both were looking around nervously, simply waiting for some ambush they knew had to be coming.

The three of them entered the warehouse. It was dark. Quiet. The silence disturbed only by a drip of water from one of the rusted steel beams holding up the thin aluminium roof. It was a quick construction job, performed in a week by Roth’s labour crews to hold the massive bumper harvest from the season; a grain harvest which had quickly disappeared, unable to fill the demand that the war torn east had created.

“If you’re here to kill me,” the lady called out into the darkness, “it will do you little good. Others will take my place and continue our struggle for equality. If that is not the case then please come forward and tell me why I have been called here tonight.”

A man stepped out from behind a crate. "Why Rosalie, you shouldn't be so paranoid. Perhaps I'm a friendly man hiding in the shadows. Maybe I'm Santa Claus, come to give presents to all the good children."

"I have a friendly proposal. Somewhere in this city, there is a cache of weapons. A thousand R-3 automatic rifles, fifty M-2 machineguns, twenty mortars, thirty RPG launchers, and plenty of munitions for them. You can have these. Additionally, we can promise shipments of food and medical supplies, assuming you can defend your harbor and airport. Hungry soldiers may be angry, but well-fed soldiers win wars. In exchange, you merely have to allow refugees to use the city as an exit point."

"So, are you good children?"

"Who the devil are you?" Rosalie Novara snapped. "I don't make deals with people I don't know."

Yuri raised his gun and aimed it at the stranger. "Now just come forward real slow. No funny business!" Yuri said in an authoritative tone.

"My name is irrelevant," said the man, stepping forward slightly. "Also, I'm without identification, so shooting me enlighten no one. As to whom I represent, it should be enough to say someone who is willing to feed your starving citizens. The deal is straight. Whether or not you choose to believe it is your choice."

"You have spit in the eye of Archbishop Roth. He is no Napoleon, but he will bring force to bear on Vanderburg. Maybe he'll siege. Maybe he'll blitz. You'll need more than esprit de corps and a few molotovs if you want to avoid mass graves."

----

"Minister Cairford," the aide spoke. "the Minister will see you now."

The aide led Minister Cairford into the office. Foreign Minister Maeda was at his desk, awaiting her.

"yes i know that its overkill but, elici is a Militaristic nation so we live to fight" "as a result if we go for too long without killing someone or something "overkill" usually is the result" replied the general accepting the leather shield from Gabriel

"i look forward to meeting your elders" "elicians move out" "Gabriel lead the way"

wit hthat the general and his troops followed gabriel out of the cave.
