Silvadusi Cosmic Administration (SCA)

Recommended Posts

Trisha walked up onto the podium with all the councilmen behind her sitting in chairs except for Alphonse, who was standing to her right and a few feet back. Guards line the stage ready and armed.

"Citizens of Silvadus, Revered Councilmen, today I come to you tell you of a new beginning for our nation, to go beyond to where no one has gone before, without fear, without hesitation. For years we have suffered in a depression and now we have climbed out unscathed and stronger than ever. Now as we raise to power, let us extend our hand out past the skies and reach up into the black abyss.

Today, I am announcing the unveiling of our nation's first project to reach up into the stars, to go into the unknown. Today I have entered a claim to a section of the Moon and all of Saturn's moon Titan with the Yggdrasil Cosmic Association. I have also put some funding into the terraformation of the planet Mars which will guarantee us a claim their. I accept a quick approval of all of these claims, and in the events of such things, we have started construction of out first spaceport for easy and efficient way of launching our spacecraft.

Also, in an effort to make space exploration safer and more cost worthy, I have created an alliance that will share resources and information within the cosmos. The United Space Federation has sent out several invitations to like-minded nations and we hope to get a positive response from them soon.

And soon, we shall fly into the heavens, and take what is ours, to spread our nation across the cosmos with our allies at our side. So, therefore, I shall be naming the first project of the Silvadusi Cosmic Administration "Project Abyss". Soon, great citizens of Silvadus, we shall take what is ours with righteousness, and rule it with peace!"

She thrusts her hand in a fist into the air

"Unity and Liberty!"

People in the crowd roar in applause, continuing on for seemingly forever as.

Silvadus has recently finished its construction of its first spaceport and readily begins construction on two new spaceports. The first Zeus-class ship is under construction along with plans to make space probes that will monitor the surface from above. The Zeus-class ship uses five Impulse Drive engines that will propel it to about one one-hundredth the speed of light. It will carry five-hundred settlers that will, after landing, disassemble the ship and set up the colony. The first launch is scheduled for 28 December at 10:00.

Due to altering weather conditions, the launch table was moved up to today, 27 Decembers at 13:15. The Zeus 1 took off perfectly well and headed to its destination on the far side of Luna. One of the spaceports under construction was damaged during the launch and will have to be put off as the other spaceport finishes. Currently the Zeus 2 is almost finished, being planned to be sent to Saturn's moon Titan, with the Zeus 3 and 4 still being built for wherever their destinations might be.

Today, 29 December, at 1:15 the Zeus 1 successfully landed on the surface of Luna and the crew have begun to disassemble the ship. The Zeus 2 took off today, 29 December, at 3:45 using the new spaceport. The spaceship's destination is the largest moon of Saturn; Titan, and is identical to the Zeus 1. Two more spaceports are under construction while the third one that was damaged is nearly done. Silvadus has made three more claims in the solar system: one on Mercury, one on Venus, and one on Mars.

At about 22:45 today, 31 December, the Zeus 3 and 4 took off from two spaceports at the same time. The Zeus 3 will head towards Venus while the Zeus 4 will go to Mars. At 23:20 the same day the Zeus 5, a recently revealed spacecraft, was launched and will be heading towards the planet of Mercury. Due to a limited budget, the fourth and fifth spaceports will have to be put on hold, while the third one has just been recently finished. Currently construction has begun on the Zeus 6, 7, and 8. Recently a new class of spacecraft, the Hermes-class, was revealed, though the purpose of them is yet to be known.

On 2 January at about 14:25 communication was lost with the Zeus 3 as it entered Venus' atmosphere. Eventually communication with the spacecraft was regained a few hours later at 21:50, the cause of this was believed to be a weather anomaly from dust of an erupting volcano or fissure. The Zeus 3 landed on Venus at about 15:05. The Zeus 4 landed on Mars' surface at 19:35 on 3 January and disassembly of the craft has begun.

A massive failure has been reported with the Zeus 5 as it attempted to land on the surface of Mercury. According to reports, there was a technical failure due to a solar anomaly which caused the shutdown of major electrical systems for about 10 minuets. The ship was then pulled to the surface of Mercury, and when control was gained the crew was barely able to land it on the cratered surface at about 21:10. Though there have been no casualties or serious injuries, the loss of some electrical systems of the ship could prove troublesome for its disassembly. Its situation is being worked currently by the SCA.

On 4 January at 1:45 the Zeus 2 landed on the surface of Saturn's moon Titan and the passengers have begun to disassemble the craft. This marks the first time people have landed on a moon of another planet.

Currently, 12 January 2010, the Zeus 1, 3, 4, and 2 have all been disassembled and reassembled into permanent colonies. The Zeus 5 on Mercury is beginning its slow and cautious disassembly after its crash landing, though still usable, some system will have to be repaired or even reconstructed from scratch.

It has been announced the the Zeus 6, 7, and 8 have been canceled and will be deconstructed; the materials will be used to finish the last two spaceports. The Hermes-class ships are being renamed as "Poseidon-class" ships; the first five are planned to be launched within the month. A new class of ship, the Hades-class, is currently under construction and rumors are going about that the Zeus 5 will be the last Zeus-class ship to be launched, though no one has confirmed such.

Recently the last two spaceports have been finished and the first of the Poseidon-class ships are being finished. They have revealed to be probes that will orbit certain planets and moons, taking in data. It has been confirmed that the Zeus-class ships will no longer be made by the SCA and that the Zeus 5 will be the last, it has also been confirmed that the Hades-class space craft will be taking its place. The first set launch date for Poseidon-class probes it set for 23 January 2010.

The Zeus 5, which crash landed on Mercury, has been successfully assembled and has started its operation. The Zeus 2 has had trouble with its power supply on Titan and has started burning methane as an alternative power source.

Today, 24 January, after a delay due to altering weather conditions, at 22:55 the first five of the Poseidon probes have been launched together, Poseidon 1 is destined for Luna, Poseidon 2 for Venus, Poseidon 3 for Mars, Poseidon 4 for Mercury, and Poseidon 5 for Titan. The main mission of the probes is to map the surface of the bodies they orbit and take information of the composition of the surface.

The main purpose of the Hades-class ships have been keep highly secret from the public. All that is known is that the Hades 1 will be going to a planet beyond Neptune, anything else about the planned mission is classified to the public.

Recently construction of a particle accelerator has begun on Luna after the discovery of helium-3 on the surface of the gray moon. Excavating of the isotope will begin soon with the construction of the particle accelerator soon to finish after words. If helium-3 and deuterium (hydrogen-2) are successfully collided then fusion energy should be made and Silvadus will enter into the age of fusion power.

A small earthquake (venusquake?) occurred at 11:25 today, 4 February, on Venus near the Silvadusi colony. Nobody was reportedly hurt and it measured as a 4.9 to 5.2 on the Richter scale. This should reveal more about the geology of Venus.

The Hades 1 was launched today, 15 February, at 1:25. It's destination is the now renamed Erebus in the Kuiper Belt. The Hades 1 is identical to the Zeus-class ships except the engines have been slightly modified to have more thrust in order to make the very long trip shorter.

Rumors have spread the the SCA has been successfully containing antimatter and have been testing it with propulsion engines. The SCA has not released any information yet on the subject and have denied all claims of even coming close to containing antimatter."It's not easy," says one of the researchers from SCA, stopped in front of his house, "If we tried to contain just a few milligrams of it and failed, the consequences could be quite devastating, and we aren't even close to containing it successfully."

About a week ago, 7 March, at 22:15, the Hades 1 landed successfully on Erebus and has already disassembled and reassembled into a permanent colony. Scientist will gain invaluable information on the existence of these outer planets in the solar system and also be able to run experiments pertaining to the theory of absolute zero. A second launch for the Hades-class ships is still yet unknown, but people think that it is very likely.

Recently, the Mars Joint Terraforming Project has pooled enough money together in order to start its operation on terraforming Mars. "This is going to be great!" yells out one of the many scientist in a laboratory at the SCA after hearing the news. "We have to start construction right away on a ship, and we need people, yes, people! Where will we get the resources!? Resources, resources..." Most of the SCA is in a mess right now trying to figure out what should be done about Mars and the current Silvadusi colony stationed there.

Today, 15 July, the SCA has announced that Mars has been terraformed enough for people to live safely on the surface. Public transport ships will be available for residents of Silvadus moving to Mars to become a permanent resident on its surface. Eventually within the next few months ships will be available for tourism of the terraformed surface of Mars, but for now only those who plan on living on Mars may use the service.

The SCA has also announced the beginning of building an international space station for USF members and that they shall be informing of their plan for the space station to all the other members of the USF. The space station will allow for things such as hangars, factories, residential and commercial districts, power generators, and possibly in the future, fusion generators and stargates.
