Tyrtania 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2009 Tyrtanians love many classical types of music although most of it is from Heritage (such as Mozart and Beethoven), but very little is actually composed anymore. These days Pop and Dance are the most popular kinds of music and new albums often sell in huge numbers. In fact, pop stars are some of the most influential people in Tyrtania. Soul is another very popular genre. Much beloved artists include: -Beyoncé -Michael Bublé -Katy Perry -Shiloh -Lady GaGa Hard Rock and all forms of Metal are generally looked on in a somewhat distasteful manner. Although acceptable when used in action movies to listen to it just for the music is very taboo. Many sub-genres and albums are totally banned because of explicit content and their illegality outlined under the legislation on noise pollution. Soft Rock is widely accepted and encouraged, and Christian rock is popular in some groups. There is no "traditional" Tyrtanian music so to speak but there is a style of pop that is the closest we have. It is very similar to Latin music

Epaiteia 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2009 There is an obvious dichotomy in Epaiteian music. On one side the people who live in Epaiteia's many rural villages and farming communities, when they have the time for music, prefer it to be of the "banjo, fiddle and out-of-tune piano" variety, most songs sung loudly in the nearest public house and starting with the line "I spied a maid a-milkin'" or variations on that theme. In Epaiteia's cities, almost exclusively on the water's edge making a killing from the natural fish-trap formed by the nation's large northern bay, there is a well established techno following, including such popular artists as Τέχνέργο and Γαρυ Νουμαν. There is also a growing underground grunge scene, and there have been instances of violence between the dominant techno enthusiasts and the increasing number of grunge lovers. Thanks to Epaiteia's excellent police force, however, these are exceptions rather than the rule, and all instances are dealt with seriously.
Korros 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2009 Korros generally follows the trends of Western music. If one cultural musical quirk exists, it is in the prevalence of string instruments in modern Korrosan music groups. Korros is probably one of the few nations where muscial acts featuring an electric violin or viola isn't viewed as a novelty. A traditional cultural music style, with a focus on horns and vocals, and lyrics heavily influenced from the epic tales of skalds also exists, but is generally only heard around holidays or official functions. Dilengarth 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2011 Dilengarth is a very varied land, though rather small compared to the other nations of Yygdrasil. Of all the parts of Dilengarth, it is the Terrainians and Aerols that play the most music. Drums and tribal music for the Terranians. In Aerol, the people play wooden flutes, the higher classes with metallic wind instruments.
TangKasha 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2011 The almost omnipresent Council of Shengzhe fanatically promotes Colonial, Shokoto and Orun-Keetan music. All three are similar and can be compared easily to Traditional Chinese and Japanese music.TangKashans by far still prefer these music types and are very critical of foreign genres (rap, rock, etc are offensive enough to have ones self thrown out of a social event and are considerd public disturbances by local police) An interesting note though can be found within TangKashas youth. Perhaps seeking to rebel against heavily dictated cultural norms, a vibrant Techno undergound has emerged and flourishes under the leadership of several influential artists .
